GREENVILLE, Calif. — The Plumas County Library’s Greenville Bookmobile continues to serve residents at 136 Crescent Street while plans for rebuilding the community’s permanent library develop. The county’s official branches-and-hours page gives four weekly service days and identifies holiday closures for November 2026.

Regular weekly hours

  • Tuesday: 11 a.m.–4 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 3–6 p.m.
  • Thursday: 11 a.m.–4 p.m.
  • Saturday: 11 a.m.–3 p.m.

The page identifies these hours as effective since August 27, 2024. The service continues to be listed by the county; nevertheless, residents should confirm the current schedule before a long trip. The Bookmobile’s direct phone number is 530-764-8196, and its email is GreenvilleLibrary@countyofplumas.com.

November 2026 closure dates

Plumas County Library’s holiday calendar says all branches and stations are closed Wednesday, November 11, for Veterans Day, and Thursday and Friday, November 26–27, for Thanksgiving. Greenville customers should not rely on normal Wednesday or Thursday hours on those dates.

The county says borrowed material may be returned to the Greenville site only when it is open, or to other Plumas County Library branches, where book drops are available around the clock. Materials, accessibility options and pickup arrangements should be confirmed with staff.

Why this service matters

Five years after the Dixie Fire destroyed the original Greenville library, access to lending materials, books and library help remains an important service for Indian Valley families. The Bookmobile is a functioning point of access; a future permanent facility is a separate rebuilding proposal.
